The Research Office in Al Ahsa provides extended support to researchers from the initial step of fulfilling requirements, proposal submission, amendments and consultation services till the completion of research. The Research Office provides support to clinical researchers with qualified and experienced research coordinators, and also offers guidance using existing facilities for example research laboratories and clinical support.

Since 2008, more than 138 proposals have been submitted to the Research Office in Al Ahsa. The office facilitates the researchers in the e-submission process of research proposals,  proposal forms and guidelines, checklists for research projects, and assignment of an appropriate clinical research coordinator to the principal investigator for ongoing research. The Office also coordinates with the KAIMRC-ER Education & Promotion section for educational activities to promote a research culture in Eastern Region.
