Pneumatic intussusception treatment system for maintaining desired pressure and flow of as into intestine of patient through rectal insertion tube, has pressure regulator that is placed in line along gas supply tube. The system (10) has a pressure sensor (28) and a pressure regulator (30) that are placed in line along a gas supply tube (16). An exhaust gas tube (60) extends from the supply tube adjacent an outlet end (52), and comprises selectively operable valve (22). A computerized control system communicates electronically with one valve and one sensor that are placed along supply tube in which the desired pressure and/or flow of gas into an intestine of a patient through a rectal insertion tube is maintained. A visual monitor (66) communicates with computerized control system.

ADVANTAGE – Since the regulator reduces the gas pressure in the supply tube to an output of about 120 mm of mercury or about 2.32 pounds per square inch, the desired result in most cases without danger of rupturing the intestine or causing other damage is obtained. The pneumatic system incorporates various pneumatic and computerized components and controls for optimum safety and efficiency.
